image of fr Timothy guthridgeFr. Timothy Guthridge, C.PP.S., is celebrating the 25th anniversary of his ordination this year. 

Fr. Guthridge, a native of Chicago, was incorporated as a Missionary of the Precious Blood on April 18, 1995, and was ordained on June 28, 1997, at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, Chicago.

His first assignment after ordination was as parochial vicar at Holy Family Church and Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, both in Sweetwater, Tex., and their missions, Our Mother of Mercy, Merkel, Tex., and Roscoe, Tex.

From 2000–04, he was the parochial vicar of Sacred Heart Church and St. Patrick Church, both in Sedalia, Mo., as well as St. Joseph Church, Clifton, Mo.; St. Patrick Church, Spring Fork, Mo.; and St. John Church, Bahner, Mo. He ministered at St. Mary Church, Centerville, Iowa, in 2007, and St. Francis Xavier Church, St. Joseph, Mo., from 2008–12.

In 2013, Fr. Guthridge was named director of province retreats. He served as director of initial formation from 2014–16. From 2017–20, he resided at St. Agnes Church in Los Angeles.

Fr. Guthridge ministered at the Sorrowful Mother Shrine from 2020–21 until his retirement to St. Charles Center, Carthagena, Ohio, where he makes his home.

Fr. Guthridge, along with all Missionaries of the Precious Blood 2022 jubilarians, were honored at the 2022 Assembly and again at a Mass at St. Charles Center on July 1, the Feast of the Precious Blood. 

“These Missionaries have devoted their lives to our Congregation’s mission and ministries,” said Fr. Jeffrey Kirch, C.PP.S., provincial director of the United States Province. “We are glad to honor them and to appreciate their service to our Church and our Congregation. May God bless them for their faithfulness.”
