We are excited to announce that one of our volunteers, Stephanie Schell, will be moving to working at KC CARE Clinic at the beginning of 2015. Stephanie will be working directly with patients in KC CARE Clinic’s General Medicine Services. Her move will give her more opportunities to work and walk with people who do not have access to health insurance or have the ability to pay for health care.
Her duties will include taking patients to an exam room, doing initial interviews with patients, taking patients’ vital signs and making sure the exam rooms are in order for them to be usable. While working there she, and future volunteers, will have the opportunity to learn from the nurses, doctors and other health care professionals who serve at KC CARE Clinic.
KC CARE Clinic was formed in 1971. Their mission is to promote health and wellness by providing quality care, access, research and education to the underserved and all people in the Kansas City community. The clinic provides health care services in general medicine, HIV prevention and primary care, behavioral health, and dentistry.
