Francesca_Cabrini

St. Frances Cabrini, patron saint of immigrants.

I have recently attended a couple of conferences on immigration reform and have been hearing the same thing. We need to join our voices with other faith-based organizations to explain why the SAFE (Strengthen and Fortify Enforcement) Act is harmful for our country and our communities. NETWORK encourages us to oppose HR 2278. I learned in the conferences that the SAFE Act deports even immigrants with green cards at certain times. NETWORK wants us to support HR 15 and push for it to be passed by the end of this year. This bill is similar to the Senate-passed comprehensive immigration reform bill with one significant difference: it does away with the “border surge” amendment which is expensive and inhumane. Please ask the representatives in your state to support this bill. NETWORK invites us to join a community-wide fast for immigrant justice on November 12-13. We can end our fasting on Nov. 13th with the Feast Day of St. Frances Cabrini, patron saint of immigrants, praying especially for immigration reform with a pathway to citizenship that keeps families together.[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
