Fr. Paul Sanders, C.PP.S., is celebrating the 60th anniversary of his ordination this year.
Fr. Sanders, a native of Pittsburgh, was incorporated as a Missionary of the Precious Blood on August 15, 1955, and was ordained on June 9, 1962, at St. Charles Seminary, Carthagena, Ohio.
His first assignment after ordination was as a chaplain at Little Company of Mary Hospital, Evergreen Park, Ill. After graduate studies at the University of Cincinnati, he served as an instructor and then principal of Del Bufalo Seminary in Liberty, Mo.
His education ministry included Bishop Hogan High School, Kansas City, Mo., 1976-78; St. Pius X High School, Kansas City, Mo.; and Nowlin Junior High School, Independence, Mo., from 1985-86.
His parish ministry in later years included St. Robert Bellarmine Church in Blue Springs, Md.; Sacred Heart Church in Gardner, Kan.; Good Shepherd Church in Shawnee, Kan.; St. Ann Church in Prairie Village, Kan.; and Sacred Heart Church and Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Kansas City, Mo.
Fr. Sanders,along with all the Missionaries of the Precious Blood 2022 jubilarians, were honored at the 2022 Assembly and again at a Mass at St. Charles Center on July 1, the Feast of the Precious Blood.
“These Missionaries have devoted their lives to our Congregation’s mission and ministries,” said Fr. Jeffrey Kirch, C.PP.S., provincial director of the United States Province. “We are glad to honor them and to appreciate their service to our Church and our Congregation. May God bless them for their faithfulness.”
