Who are those stars who have led the many to justice in our recent history? We are familiar with the major stars who spent their lives bending the arc toward justice–Martin Luther King, Jr., Dorothy Day, Mahatma Gandhi, Rosa Parks–the litany of stars fills the firmament. But this month of November is a good time to remember those stars who shined brightly in our personal orbit. Those who were shining lights who led many to peace and justice. I this reflection, I remember some of them in my own life. As the darkness of oppression and injustice continues to claim so many souls, how are we leading others to justice today as we seek to be a light of life, a beacon of hope for our world?
