Stand Up KC and Missouri Jobs With Justice have gathered a coalition of workers, community leaders, and faith leaders to rally for justice by raising the minimum wage in Kansas City. Stand Up KC asks for our support as they launch a multi-day fast in front of City Hall to call for an increase in the minimum wage. The fast will last from July 9th to July 16th when the City Council will vote on a minimum wage ordinance. I am on the Worker’s Rights Board for Jobs With Justice and plan to take part in the fast, standing in solidarity with the workers. I ask for your support and prayers this coming week as we advocate for $15 an hour for these struggling workers.
