PageLines- logo_bicentennial_01.jpgDear Friends,
Thank you for your prayers for the Major Superiors meeting in Dodoma, Tanzania. We concluded the business portion of our meeting at noon today. We voted unanimously to raise Tanzania from a vicariate to a province. They will now be the third largest province in the Society with 70 missionaries. We congratulate our brothers for their extraordinary ministry and the many years they have worked to fulfill the requirements for becoming a province. We send special greetings to Fr. Deo serving with our province in Sedalia! Congratulations, Fr. Deo!
This afternoon we visited the Village of Hope. Since 2002, this ministry has been caring for children with HIV and AIDS. We also visited the Water Project where Fr. Tim Coday, formerly of the Kansas City Province and a good friend to many of us gave us a tour. Finally, we visited the house of inquiry. Today was the first day for ten new candidates beginning their discernment for the province. Tonight we will celebrate with the C.PP.S. living in Dodoma a festive meal to honor the newest province in the Society.
Tomorrow we will travel to Itigi to visit the hospital and other missions served by the province.
Take good care and may we continue to meet in prayer across the miles!
With peace,
Fr. Joe Nassal, C.PP.S.
Provincial Director
