vocation teamOn Tuesday, August 12, the Vocation Committee met at the Precious Blood Center. We gathered for a time of prayer as well as to dialogue about the role of the Vocation Committee and how it ties into the Committee Team. As a reminder, Vince Wirtner, Matt Link and I serve as the Vocation Team for both the Kansas City and Cincinnati Provinces. The Vocation Committee is made up of members from the Kansas City Province and works with the team to support and brainstorm ideas for vocations. In the past, this committee has assisted with their presence at various Vocations Fairs, NCYC, KCYC, and other Vocations related events. We also assisted in creating the red wristbands to promote the community.
Serving on the Vocations Committee are Rena Tulipana, Liberty Companion; Mike and Debbie Bolin, Mid-Mo Companion; and Frank and Phyllis Still, St. Joseph Companion.
Working with the committee is a reminder to me that we are all called to invite and encourage vocations to the priesthood and religious life. We must share our story as Missionaries of the Precious Blood and help others to discern where God is calling them in their own lives. With the help of the Vocations Committee, we hope to engage not only community members, but also parishioners of the churches we serve to invite young men and women to discern their vocation. Thank you to each of the members of the Vocation Committee for your willingness to serve. May we continue to seek out others who are willing to answer the call.
