Dear Friends,

Greetings and peace from Vietnam! On Saturday, February 7, we will celebrate the Pledged Candidacy of three students: Joseph Ky Phung Vu, Paul Hao Pham Xuan, and Vincent Hoa Vu Thai. Ky is an artist who completed his undergraduate degree in Fine Arts and is now in his second year of Religious Studies at the La Salle Institute. Hao has an undergraduate degree in law and is presently in his third year of study in the Philosophy and Theology program at Dominican Study Center. Hoa grew up on a farm and is a gifted musician who is in his second year of theology studies at Dominican.

These young men are talented and very hospitable and compassionate. I have had the privilege of interviewing each one (with the help of an interpreter, of course!) and spending time in their company. They are also exceptional cooks! We are very blessed to have them join our community as Pledged Candidates. Please hold them in your prayers!

We will celebrate the Pledged Candidacy with Mass at 10:00 AM Saturday at the Church where Fr. Lac Pham lives with the inquiry candidates and where he serves regularly. In addition to family and friends of Ky, Hao, and Hoa, parishioners have been invited to join us for the Mass and celebration. So set your clocks! 10:00 AM Saturday is 9:00 PM Friday Central Time and 7:00 PM Pacific Time! Please join us in prayer!

With peace,
Fr. Joe Nassal, C.PP.S.
