Who We Are

Precious Blood Resource Services (PBRS) is a ministry of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood, Kansas City Province. We are part of a worldwide community of priests and brothers, lay associates (Companions), and Precious Blood Volunteers. Through many ministries, the Missionaries of the Precious Blood serve those on the margins through work in the inner city, healthcare, pastoral care, and advocacy. Our members serve as teachers, pastors, missionaries, retreat leaders, theologians, advocates for those on the margins of society, hospice care workers, and justice & peace advocates.

What We Do

Precious Blood Resource Services is a ministry of accompaniment. We provide the following service to our clients: we assess their situation, link them to services and accompany them through the process. Often the process of obtaining services from government and private agencies can be tedious and clients may need encouragement and direction. We also strive to partner and collaborate with all community resource agencies in order to enhance the quality of life for those in need.

Jennifer Chappell and Denise MurrowHow You Can Get Involved

  • We need volunteers who are willing to walk with our clients as they seek services from community agencies. We train our volunteers to ask the right questions of our clients to help determine what agencies can best help them. We help them by giving them the needed phone numbers and contact information for the services they need, and if necessary our volunteers will help facilitate conversations with agencies for help.
  • We need volunteers to help with administrative tasks in our offices: keeping information for our partner agencies up to date, filing, typing, and printing needed materials.
