Faith Encounters the Ecological Crisis identifies that ways in which we are already living beyond the biocapacity of the planet and challenges participants to identify elements of a spirituality for living through the ecological crisis. Participants will view several films, engage in small and large group discussion, and meet with several guest speakers as they consider various aspects of the ecological crisis. Participants will also identify ways to ‘live beyond the end of this world’ with a rich and vibrant Earth community still intact, still able to support life.
Faith Encounters the Ecological Crisis is a unit in the JustMatters program of JustFaith Ministries, which offers extended programs that provide opportunities for individuals to study and be formed by the justice tradition articulated by the Scriptures, the Church’s historical witness, theological inquiry and Church social teaching. JustFaith Ministries programs help individuals experience conversion, integrating their personal spirituality with social commitment. Participants are empowered to develop a passion and thirst for justice and to express this passion in concrete acts of social ministry in their parish or church and in the community at large.
Registration is limited to 20 participants. Contact Br. Daryl Charron, C.PP.S.
