Faiths United to Prevent Gun Violence, a coalition of 50 national denominations and faith-based organizations, is sponsoring a National Gun Violence Prevention Sabbath on December 11-14, 2014. It is the one time each year where we come together as a national faith community to reflect, educate and act to reduce gun violence. Places of worship across the nation are joining the Washington National Cathedral to remember those who have lost their lives to gunfire, pray in for those whose lives have been forever changed because of the loss of a loved one, and to continue the discussion on how communities of faith can work together to help reduce gun violence. Please join us at St. James Catholic Church in Kansas City, Missouri on Thursday, December 11th at 6:30 pm to celebrate Eucharist to commemorate the occasion. Fr. Joe Nassal, C.PP.S., Provincial Director, will preside. He will also give a talk following the Mass.
