Precious Blood Volunteers is a ministry of the Kansas City Province of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood. Our mission is to form lay Christians in Precious Blood spirituality by building community, walking with those who suffer and seeking reconciliation in a divided world.
Marie Trout, a Precious Blood lay Companion, and Al Ebach, C.PP.S., a Precious Blood priest, came up with a plan to give an opportunity for lay people to live in service to others for a year as part of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood. In April 2008 Marie and Al presented their idea at the Kansas City Province annual Assembly. Their plan was approved during the annual Assembly of the members of the Kansas City Province.
Since that time we have had volunteers serving in schools, social service centers, hospitals, health clinics, LGBTQ service centers and parish ministry. Our volunteers have gone on to careers in the medical field and with organizations like Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Habitat for Humanity, and the American Cancer Society.
